The clock tower in the foreground sits atop the German School, located just across from Grapevine Guest Suite. The large domed building is the Gasconade County Courthouse, which overlooks the Missouri River.

Having been born and raised in the Hermann area, Michele Fehlings left for Alaska in 1988, shortly after graduating from Lindenwood College in St. Charles. In Skagway, Alaska, she met her husband, Mick McCarter, originally from southeastern Pennsylvania.  They spent 20+ years in Skagway and Haines experiencing life in a one-room log cabin for a time, ocean and mountain views from their living room window and grizzly bears eating salmon in the front yard.

But life is all about change. In 2008, weary of the winters, Michele and Mick traded the grizzlies for views of grapevines and settled back in Missouri to pursue new ventures, get acquainted with family and friends and enjoy an early spring!  As your hosts, they look forward to providing you with an enjoyable stay in their historic hometown.
